National Achievers Society and the
Laptop Award Program
Do you know a graduating high school senior with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher?
The Milwaukee Urban League’s Education and Training department is pleased to offer a special award opportunity to senior students with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher. To be considered, students must submit a National Achievers Society Nomination Form and a complete Laptop Award application. (Click on the links below to view application documents.)
Students are encouraged to apply early due to the competitive nature of this Award. The deadline for submission of the National Achievers Society Nomination Form is March 29, 2013 by 5:00pm. The deadline for submission of the Laptop Award Application Form and all required
materials is April 12, 2013 by 3:00pm, no exceptions. Applications submitted late or incomplete will not be reviewed. It is preferred that the Nomination Form and Laptop Award Application be hand delivered or mailed to: Milwaukee Urban League, Education and Training
Department, 435 West North Ave. Milwaukee, WI 53212. Otherwise, entries can be emailed to ynoel@tmul.org or gfanning@tmul.org or faxed to: 414-562-8620

The primary purpose of the National Achievers Society and the Laptop Award program is to acknowledge students who have demonstrated the
potential for collegiate academic excellence, leadership and commitment to use their talents to serve Milwaukee and the broader community. Selected students will be awarded a new, fully loaded laptop computer at the National Achievers Society Award ceremony on Monday, May 13, 2013 at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Ballroom.

Milwaukee Conservation Leadership Corps. Summer Employment Program
Milwaukee Conservation Leadership Corps. recruiting for the Summer Employment ProgramThe Milwaukee Area Workforce Investment Board (MAWIB) and Student Conservation Association are now recruiting for the Milwaukee Conservation Leadership Corps-Summer Employment Program. We are seeking High School Students between the ages of 15-19 that enjoy working outdoors.
The 6-week summer work experience program is tentatively scheduled to begin July 1, 2013 and conclude August 9, 2013. All interested youth MUST attend one of the Informational Sessions held at the MAWIB. (Parents are welcome!) |

McDonalds Scholarship Program for College, USA Unfortunately, many of those students can’t afford to get the education of their dreams. We want these students to reach their full potential. To help them accomplish this, our network of U.S. Chapters, along with RMHC Global, offer scholarships to students in financial need who have demonstrated academic achievement, leadership and community involvement. Since 1985, more than $44 million in scholarships have been awarded. Scholarships are for students in the United States living in areas where there are participating local RMHC Chapters. RMHC Scholars-which is a need based scholarship provided to talented students irrespective to their caste, creed and color and nationality. RMHC/ HASERS are for students having at least one of the parents of Hispanic or Latino Heritage. The fund provide four such scholarships. RMHC/ ASIA provide students of Asian Pacific heritage an opportunity to pursue studies. RMHC/ African American scholarships are for African American citizens. ***********************************
